I made adjustments to the #soiadelletop so this is a wearable toile - thank the lord that it was planning to be a toile because I totally forgot the pattern has a lower back and put the neckband on the wrong way. This meant that the seam of the neckband ended up being in the front 😂 I was not unpicking that so threw in a few stitches to hide my mistake 😂 I have made this top before but it came up too large in some places and too small in others. This is a perfect fit now and I am definitely going to make more - the right way! 😂😂😂 Fabric was some leftovers from my lovely sewing friends at the sewing retreat! The colour is having me think its @stitchhemsew but I could be wrong! #sewoveritlondon #adelletop

Q1 check in of #makenine2024 I’ve made 3 things which isn’t bad! The problem with make nine is I start to lose interest in some of the patterns I’ve chosen around this point in the year. Xanthe Skirt This is Sew Over It's new pattern and it's super cute! It will fit right into any wardrobe and I already have plans to make another. The instructions were awesome and made the zip fly construction easy to follow. I graded between a size 8 and 10 and I decided not to add pockets to the back to make it look in line with the Ava and Bobbi skirts I've made. I also removed about an inch from the hem and added topstitching but you can't really tell with corduroy fabric. Its seems like I stretched the fabric when adding the front pocket pieces and my waistband ended up being 7cm too short. I added extra fabric but now I have to wear a belt with the skirt - good thing it's got belt loops! Next time I think I'll make the longer version or make this version again but pattern mash with the Ava skirt. As a Sew Over It Pattern Insider I was gifted this pattern to make up ahead of today's release. Paired here with my Adelle top. So, the Sew Over It Adelle top is finished… and the neck adjustment didn’t do its job 😫 It might’ve been because I overstretched the neck band as I was sewing it on (during my first 2 Adelle tops earlier in the year, I struggled to stretch the neck band enough to make it fit. This time, I pulled it to within an inch of its life as I stitched!). The intended fabric for the final top is in the picture, a beautiful snowy white stretch rib. Almost halfway through the construction of my toile of the @sewoveritlondon Adelle top I started earlier, and I’m getting peckish. The instructions for the Sew Over It patterns say to have lots of cups of tea and cake to keep refreshed, but my Slimming World plan doesn’t really allow for that so I’m having to make do with a poached egg sandwich (dry toast) and black coffee. It’s almost the same… isn’t it?! New make! This is the @sewoveritlondon Adele top which is free when you join the #soivipclub . I used a gorgeous quality soft navy bamboo jersey from @sewmesunshine.uk and love it! I made a size 12 but did have to bring in the armscye by a few cm…next time I will try making a 10 and grading out to a 12 at the bust and waist. Ok so I think I’m caught up on everything I’ve sewn up until the end of March now! This was actually the first thing I made this year but I didn’t photograph it because it’s too big around the shoulder. As this pattern has negative ease I sized up as I didn’t want it to cling to my stomach. However, I didn’t need to size up at the top, I should have just graded out at the waist! This is the @sewoveritlondon Adelle top which is a great basic jersey top! I love the low back but it still covers your bra! This is a free pattern when you join their PDF club.
