Made my #helensclosetcameronbuttonup in fushia pink linen. And covered buttons because it was difficult to find the right pink. This is the 5th Cameron shirt I've made. It's a good, proper shirt pattern, and it looks good on the inside too What next?

All Christmas sewing is done and I can get back the the Camron button up from #helenscloset that I am making for my brother. Aaannnddd I’ve sewn my very first sleeve placket ever!!! I’m pretty pleased with it, it’s not perfect by any means but like it’s a real placket and it works, huzzah! Finally got around to making the adjustments I needed on the Helen’s Closet Cameron button up pattern. Adjustments made: broad back, high round back, sway back, shortened length of sleeves by 1inch but will probably shorten again by another 1inch as they are still slightly too long, raised shoulder point at neckline and lowered neckline at centre front (adjusted length of collar and collar stand to match). Also took in sides a bit at the waist. Happy with the fit, although next time I might take the waist in a bit more and the sides of the sleeves. #helenscloset #cameronbuttonup #helensclosetcameron #helensclosetcameronbuttonup

On a recent trip into Leicester I spotted this orange check brushed cotton (from Roy’s Material World) and instantly thought shirt for husband . The pattern is the @helens__closet #cameronbuttonup shirt. I’ve been on the hunt for a loose fit classic shirt for myself and the beauty of this one is it’s a unisex pattern with a fantastic size range so I can use it for me and the husband, I just added 4 inch to the total length and an inch to the sleeves (it’s drafted for 5’6”) and sewed up a straight size 20 and the fit is spot on . Cameron shirt 2.0 My sunny flower shirt 🌻🌻 I’ve been wanting to make a white shirt for some time now, and while cutting out the pocket I had a little idea to add some embroidery. I did the @cleverpoppy free course a little while back and thought what a perfect opportunity to give it a go on a memade. Next to the pattern. It’s the second time using @helens__closet Cameron button up and I can confidently say this is my first pattern to make into my TNT stash. 🥰 The design is just lovely, and with the small mods, the fit is better than any rtw shirt I have ever made. Wearing TWO of my me-mades today! The plaid flannel is the Woods shirt by Mimoi Patterns. (I made the sleeve one-piece and used the placket and instructions from the Helen's Closet Cameron shirt. This shirt was perfect for throwing over my Sinclair Patterns Bloom blouse made in a lightweight cotton lawn, with horizontal pleats. #helensclosetcameron #helensclosetcameronbuttonup #mimoiwoods #sinclairbloom

Made another Helen’s Closet Cameron button up shirt. The fabric was really light weight so I treated it with a gelatin and water solution (video shows what it looked like once it was dry). Once the fabric was dry it was similar to the weight of paper which made it easier to cut out and sew. After everything was sewn together I put it in the washing machine to wash out all the of the gelatin. Same adjustments to pattern as last time except this time I took off another inch from the sleeve length and made the sides of the sleeves size 8 (but the rest is size 12). Also graded from size 8 at the underarm of main body of shirt to size 12 at the hips. #helenscloset #helensclosetcameron #cameronbuttonup #helensclosetcameronbuttonup

Sad post! These are not the photos I thought I’d be posting for this #helensclosetcameronbuttonup. My younger brother is v cool and can pull off a lot of looks. We had an idea for a mens lace button up shirt for him after I found a lace curtain with a great pattern. Many FaceTimes, french seams, and button holes on lace fabric later, I made this @helens__closet #cameronbuttonup for him. Finished it and sent last week, and the package was delivered to him busted open, empty, and with a note from the mail service about how the item was lost at the mail sorting facility and they were sorry for the inconvenience. I’m crushed 😩 It now lives on in these pictures, posting them in case it helps others w this pattern or this type of fabric. I made a size 14 and did french seams throughout & top stitched them down, which was helpful w/ this material. Only modifications were removing the yoke & back pleat, and cutting the back yoke and back panel as one single piece, to connect to the front panels so I could get more of that beautiful goodness in the pattern. Also- I learned from @lovetosew.podcast that a button down is a shirt where the collar is buttoned down to the shirt; a button up is no collar buttons! #themoreyouknow🌈 #helensclosetcameron
