I dont like ties at the nape of my shirt necklines. So i unpicked and redid the neckline of this hacked papercut pinnacle top to join the bias binding on the neckline with a bias join, stolen from quilt binding videos going around, then resewed the bias down. This complimentary #katmlabel works well with colour and message. A beautiful vintage blue floral slub-weave cotton found at thrift habedasheries or fb online destash groups. Initially this fabric choice was labeled "old lady"... And after much consideration (and a bit of resentment) i decided I AM AN OLD LADY! I'm 35, have 2 kids, and i don't want to be uncomfortable or freeze my ass off on new years anymore! I AM WHAT I AM. I also love this top. It tends to flash too much (the stiff fabric didn't help) but I'm flat and i just wore a bra i don't mind people seeing. The fabric is bonded so i didn't have to finish the seams. And there were 4 pattern pieces, so it came together in like an hour. Pattern: #papercutpatterns #pinnacletop , size 3, lengthened by 1.75". Pinnacle Top by @papercutpatterns with amazing point matching 😏 This is kind of a tease since I have no videos for this top (sorry! I know the calendar says I do but I have a surprise video on Saturday for you) But LOOK at my point matching. 😃 I have to admit. So many of the Instagram posts under the Pinnacle Top hashtag made me nervous for this spot and the instructions are pretty confusing (sorry! But the trimming and stuff made me uncertain). I just had to do it myself. But it works perfectly. 🙌 I trimmed nothing. I scooped the neck V a little. And without the V Neck inset this top is very low cut. 🙈Swipe to see View 1. That’s a camisole underneath. 👌 I’ll definitely sew this with you all once the pattern gets updated with more sizes. 🥳 I’m not a big fan of grown on sleeves but this top is so cute, so fast and comes with three variations! I love how loose and airy it is but it’s tapered at the hem so it’s not fly away loose! Shown here is view 2 and View 1. View 3 has sleeve cuffs and waistband too! Lots of sewing, but the weather (and the fact that my old phone doesn't like Instagram) has gotten in the way of taking photos. This is  the #pinnacletop from #papercutpatterns made in the most luscious #tenceltwill ever. It's the cedar wood color from #telio . I'm pretty happy with the outcome but I found the instructions were a bit sketchy, especially on making the all-important bodice points. Let's just say I could never wear this inside out. It’s day 1 of #memademay2023! Last year I loved seeing what others wore or planned for #memademay and thought how nice it would be to have enough of a wardrobe built up to wear a hand crafted piece every day. It seemed like a far off dream. This year I have enough clothes made at this point that I can wear my own made garments each day. I feel fortunate to have achieved that goal. For this month I would like to use this as an excuse to enjoy wearing my clothes, even the fancier ones that rarely get worn. Even the ones that might be impractical to wear for a WFH lifestyle. Finally did some sewing a couple of weeks ago - another #papercutpinnacletop I went to spotlight for a zip and this fabric stopped me in my tracks! 😆 A linen/cotton - it’s already shrunk a bit more even with pre-washing and I cut one size larger than I usually would. #memademay2020 day 8. Throwback to summer. This is me wearing @megannielsenpatterns Harper shorts lengthened to pants. (My most used pattern ever. I've made seven pairs of pants including linen, wool, and corduroy. I still haven't made it up as shorts through! 🤷😂) Here I've raised the waistline and added a tiny ruffle around the pockets with coordinating bias binding. Pinnacle Top die Zweite! Was passt besser zur luftig leichten Culottes Bloom als ein Blusenshirt? Der Schnitt ist einer meiner heißen Lieblinge. Er ist so einfach und doch so raffiniert und sieht deshalb je nach Stoff immer wieder anders aus! Diese Bluse hat nur ein Manko: der toll aussehende Stoff ist 100% Polyester 😢 Den Stoff habe ich zu Beginn meiner Nähzeit gekauft, als ich noch nicht die Bezugsquellen wirklich guter und umweltschonender Stoffe kannte. Details first: Pinnacle Top by Papercut Patterns in size xs variation 2. Made with Brussels washer linen blend in espresso from @imaginegnats . This top was fun to piece together. I had a little quilting flashback for a minute doing the triangles on the front. I wasn’t sure I was doing it right, found out I wasn’t, ripped out a seam and tried again and bam! So cute! These were the strangest shaped pieces of fabric ever when I cut out the pattern and I was giddy with curiosity how it’d all go together 😆 love the back, and yes I forgot to snap a pic lol but the tie and keyhole is a nice change from the norm. As you can see from my grid, I love a boxy top and in this fabric I think it flows really nicely. Two toiles - Papercut Pinnacle and Paper Theory Kabuki - both have interesting piecing and a basic shape that I use a lot. The square armholes and triangle pieces went together well. No tweaking needed to get the fit I want with Pinnacle but I think I’ll change the shoulder angle on the Kabuki for more arm lift room for me. Always compare everything back to my absolute favourite shape in Vogue 7717 so it makes tweaking easy and getting the fit I want quicker. This is my second make of the #pinnaclepattern the first I made from a 2 tone duvet cover bought at the local charity shop, which I binned recently on a clear out. Husband said it looked like a pyjama top - once said you can't unhear it..... However it did show of the uniqueness of this pattern - the joining of the pattern is at the centre front. ( quite a challenge to get them to all meet in the middle...) I have tried to show it in the close up picture. It was a bit like sewing an origami pattern, but do love it. Got some material in my stash ready for 3rd make.
