Un peu plus acrobatique à mettre quand on porte la blouse version cache cœur dos... On voit aussi que mon tissu étant assez épais pour le modèle, je n ai pas fait de coutures anglaises, mais un simple point de surjet, grâce au pied de biche dédié, qui a été une révélation quand je l ai découvert dans ma MAC. . . . Still #sewinginisolation. This is the #sequencetop by #papercutpatterns. I made it in a #zebraprint georgette from #minervacrafts. I decided to line this in a teal fabric from #raystitch, partly because it’s a little bit see-through, and partly because I’m really not a fan of facings (this likely relates to my own ineptitude). I really love the contrast but it possibly did reduce the silky, floaty, fairy-wing effect that the picture on the pattern seems to have which might be why I then decided to make a couple more adjustments. I took in the butterfly sleeves, made an exit hole for the left tie in the right bodice seam and took in the back a little (I always have to do this I don’t know why I still forget). Puisque cette année, malgre les restrictions, le concert avait lieu, l'occasion était trop belle de me coudre une nouvelle blouse... Le chœur d'hommes étant en jean et chemise blanche, je fais généralement pareil mais avec une blouse. . . . Avec son cache cœur réversible, la #papercutsequenceblouse était sur ma liste rêvée depuis longtemps, je me suis donc lancée avec une belle gabardine twill de coton @bennytex. Le modèle est parfait, j ai pris énormément de plaisir à la couture. J ainsimplement modifié les manches en leur retirant de l'ampleur pour ne pas être gênée pour diriger, et je les ai finies avec un joli galon de dentelle ancienne . . . Seul étonnement, il n'y a pas d'ouverture pour les liens, qui sont tous deux du même côté, le pan intérieur étant maintenu par un petit bouton dans les marges du côté opposé. Ayant choisi la version ceintures larges, j ai passé pas mal de temps à chercher comment croiser et nouer tout ça sans que mon tissu avec un peu plus de tenue que préconisé ne soit trop disgracieux (je ne voulais pas jute un gros nœud sur le côté mais bien un tour complet) . . . 01.04.2023 - we got married in a forest! I wore a shortened secondhand slip gown and the blouse I made of refashioned lace from my Mum’s wedding dress. I've sewn some low-back projects in the past, but what I love most about the #ppsequencedress is that it's feminine and balanced -- two of the three words that I picked to describe my style while taking @seamwork's #designyourwardrobe course. When worn with the wrap to the back, the longer bell-sleeves and higher neckline keep me from feeling more exposed than I personally enjoy. It's the right hack for my perfect low-back. Made this Sequence Blouse / Dress by @papercutpatterns right before we left for Rome. I love the simplicity of this dress and that you can wear it with the V in front or back (swipe to see it with the V in back). The next one I make, I’ll probably add the tie to the inside wrap and make a hole for it to go through — right now the inside wrap is secured with a loop and a button. T H R E A D S: Little Blue Dress Unsuprisingly, autumn is my favorite time of year. Surprisingly, I think its in part because I prefer wearing dresses in the colder seasons of the year, so my wardrobe becomes more creative. Its something about the layers that makes it feel exciting. A pair of tights (or two), a dress, and even a chunky sweater on top is perfection, wouldn't you agree? The #ppsequencedress fit all the requirements for my "perfect" fall dress. It's got some witchy vibes (thanks to the big sleeve energy), it's the perfect length for tights and boots, and it's versatile (the wrap can be worn for a party in front or in back). In fact, if I hadn't used an overlocker to finish the facings, I think it could even work as a duster! I finished my Papercut Patterns sequence blouse! This was…work 😮‍💨 Luckily it paid off! Read on for the chaotic sewing journey that led to this top… . . So first I accidentally only cut one panel of the wrap bodice, and had to order more fabric. And then I realized that because this fabric is a (gorgeous) floaty cotton gauze, the back was entirely see-through. So I cut a lining for the back and had to sew that together before continuing. . THEN I originally was going to make this as a dress but I’m between sizes and for some confusing reason I decided to try the smaller size. When I tried it on, the front kind of gapped open on my legs in a way that I didn’t feel good about. SOOOOO I cut it into the blouse length instead. Then I realized I had cut off part of the tie, so I had to kind of half-ass sew it back together. Then when I went to hem the sleeves I noticed I had sewn one on upside down. . Like. Why. What is this. . Anyway so I fixed that, hemmed the rest of the blouse, added a snap at the front, and here we are!! I was trying to sew this project quickly and I made a lot of time consuming mistakes. Like honestly it probably would have gone faster if I had just taken my time. But, at the end of it I’m happy with the end result! Day 10 of #memademay and I’m wearing a much unloved make. I made this @papercutpatterns #sequencedress last year but have actually never worn it...until today. I was never 100% happy with the fit. The top too roomy and the waist too baggy. I decided to try it in again today and by wrapping the waist ties around to cinch it in, I’m surprised by how much I like it. I think I’m going to insert some elastic to the sleeve to pull in the bottom and create a ruffled cuff, and I think I’ll get much more wear out of it. I’ve been wanting to make the #peppermintwrapskirt for an age, in a cropped length for summer, but felt unsure of how the wrap would look on me. I am digging how the skirt portion of this dress is looking, and it’s definitely nudging me to push the peppermint wrap skirt up to the top of my sewing list. •SEQUENCE• I made a @papercutpatterns Sequence dress with the floral viscose I bought from @sewisfaction last year and it’s sooooo pretty. ~ This is the second time I’ve used this pattern - the first time I used a cotton lawn and the drape and stiffness of the fabric makes such a difference. This is a size 4 with no adjustments, though I really should have gone with a size 3 as it’s not at all fitted - when will I ever learn? ~ The best thing about this dress is that it’s reversible and can be worn in 4 different ways - scroll for all the photos!
