It’s my second jumpsuit and it’s pink 💖 ! Or fuchsia I should say. After my floral try out I changed this one to have a v neck line, longer ties so I could wrap them around mire, and added some length to the sleeves, the rise of the pants and the pant legs. If you don’t rip the runner from the invisible zipper like I did 🥴🤦‍♀️ this is a really easy sewing project. Ich hab mir tatsächlich einen Jumpsuit genäht. Mit der Hochzeitseinladung von Freunden als Anlass in der Hand dachte ich mir plötzlich, wann, wenn nicht jetzt, könnte ich mich ins Abenteuer Jumpsuit stürzen. Genäht habe ich mir einen #mirrijumpsuit @papercutpatterns - ich scheine gerade so ein Affinität mit Wickelbänderdingens zu haben. Vernäht habe ich einen Tencel Twill via @1000stoff , auf den meine Wahl in erster Linie wegen der dunkeloliven (oder ist es khaki?) Farbe gefallen ist. Das Teil entpuppte sich am Hochzeitsfest als echtes "secret pyjama" und ich bin so happy, bin ich das Wagnis Jumpsuit eingegangen. Make 19 of 2021 is the Mirri jumpsuit from Papercut patterns. I chose this dark olive linen/cotton blend fabric from @fabricinspirationsuk because I love the colour although in hindsight it’s a bit too thick and stiff. Something with slightly more drape would be better, especially for the ties. I particularly like the back, with the short zip and I used a vintage button from my stash to finish it off. I promised more sewing content and more sewing content I bring you today! . Typically this is not the kind of pattern I’d rush to buy/make until I’d seen a version of on here and fell in love with, but after testing @papercutpatterns latest collection and being able to choose patterns as part of being a tester I picked the new Mirri jumpsuit as a bit of a wildcard. And know what? I absolutely love it! The waist cuts me where I like it to, the body length actually fits me, that front knot drape 😍 and like most @papercutpatterns the construction is clever and on point! Honestly, I am loving this make, can you tell?! . I used one of my @wearethefabricstore fabrics I also bought with my tester voucher. It’s a rayon crepe in a khaki/moss colour. It’s got a nice drape and is lightweight so perfect for spring summer wear. I had to shorten the trouser length on the pattern as this fabric is only 120cm wide but I feel it lends itself quite well to the style of the jumpsuit. . I am living for these warmer days and being able to bring out more spring summer outfits and put some warmer weather sewing plans in to place. Here she is! #papercutmirri jumpsuit from @papercutpatterns . This was such an enjoyable make! Getting the pieces out a linen remnant from @drapersfabrics was a real head-scratcher and I very nearly gave in...until I realised I could piece one of the front pieces. So glad I persisted. ☺️ I shortened the rise of these about 1.5 cm, but could’ve potentially done more. #sewingshort I also did a 6cm (2x 3cm double folded) hem. The wrapping feature on this pattern is so cool, and allows you to easily adjust (while wearing) how much ease there is through the waist, and even the bodice to some extent. As is, it fits well but I might add darts for the back bodice when I get back to my sewing machine! . . . I’m not usually cool enough to pull off any kind of romper or jumpsuit, but I’m obsessed with the @papercutpatterns Mirri jumpsuit. When I came across the pattern, I knew I had to make it! This linen look fabric from @joann_stores seems like it was just made for it! I’m pretty proud of this make! It was my first time putting in a zipper- I’ve tried to avoid it at all costs and on little girl dresses, I always just skip the zipper and add a button placket instead, but I’m so glad I went for it! I made something at last - it’s been a while! I’m not a pants person - I make an exception for jeans, but pants generally just aren’t my jam - I find them uncomfortable and don’t feel they suit me. I tried the Zadie last year and, unsurprisingly, it wasn’t for me. But I love the @papercutpatterns #papercutmeridian dress so much I wanted to give the new #papercutmirrijumpsuit a go, and I’m loving this! I bought this swishy satin-backed crepe from @wearethefabricstore last year to make a @sydneyfrocktails dress but of course that didn’t happen, and I’m very pleased with how this turned out! I might perhaps shorten the rise a smidge for a next one, but I can see more of these in my future, perhaps with sleeves next time. #mirrijumpsuit #papercutpatterns
