I was so excited to wear this nice wool/cashmere matching set out today. However, I trekked all the way up into the forest just to discover the macaques were too "busy" with mating season to actually be enjoying the hot springs that we came to see. 😭😂 I made this Irma Body Warmer out of leftover bits of this lovely wool/cashmere blend I purchased for a previous jacket make. I omitted the quilting due to the thickness of the fabric. I also went for the button closure front for a more structured look. Some still photos of my #TheRefashioners2023 entry. I used a pair of my son’s old jeans to make a bucket hat with the #papercutpatterns hat pack. The result is quirky and fun with lots of weird little pockets for storing things. The process was fairly straightforward but because the denim has a bit of stretch I was careful to reinforce some sections with interfacing to prevent it going out of shape. My son loves the hat and has hardly had it off in the week since I made it. ✂️ Sustainability, reusing, repurposing and saving money are all important to me so this challenge is right up my street.
