Well what a day!!! 💖💖💖 Helen (@xxstitchriprepeatxx ) and I had the absolute pleasure of being able to attend the @beyond.thepinkdoor new shop grand opening in Poundsbury today 💖 We’ve both had the most fantastic time, it was so fabulous to see Andrea again and have a brief chat (it was mega busy 😆) and what a joy that the wonderful Cara ( @sosewmad ) was there cutting fabric and chatting too. 💖 We both met so many fabulous people from the sewing community - this hobby really does have the most amazing, kind, inspirational people within it 🥰 thank you to anyone that came and said hello today - it really did make our day 🥰💖 💖 It was also a great opportunity for me to wear my new @sewoveritlondon #soileadress that I made and finished literally half an hour before we left today 😜🤣 in this beautiful #pimacottonlawn that I purchased recently from @stonefabrics 💖 The Lea pattern is a dress that I have wanted to make for so long, and when Sew Over It announced that they were re launching the pattern in an extended size range and added pockets, I thought what better excuse than to get on and make it 😊 💖 I’m so pleased with it, it has been a very comfortable dress to wear today and I felt really nice in it. Hi jumpsuit of dreams! I’m a new lover of jumpsuits but not so much the fitting of them. Welcome the Avenir jumpsuit from @fridaypatterncompany and its elasticated-fitting goodness. I cannot stress enough how comfortable this is. Easy to take on and off with the elasticated neckline and the elasticated waist meant fitting was a breeze. (I’ll quietly admit now that I didn’t make a toile for this one…) I made this in a straight medium despite my hip measurements pointing towards a large, and made a couple of small adjustments. I lengthened the bodice by 1”, lengthened the legs by 2” to make a full length version (I’m 5ft5 with a long torso and short legs, for reference) and used a wider 1” elastic at the waist for comfort. I would make no changes to this for future versions. The fabric used is a beautiful viscose from @beyond.thepinkdoor. The colours are so vibrant and the fabric itself drapes beautifully. Really happy with this. It was a really straightforward make, aided by the lovely clear instructions as always from FPC, and it’s one of my favourite makes so far. I’m up in the middle of the night! Again!! So here I am on insta 🤣 Today (later today) I am planning on sewing up my 4th avenir jumpsuit from @fridaypatterncompany in this beautiful orange viscose twill (swipe) from @jennystitchesfabrics I have had it cut out for ages (May) and it is time to sew it up. 🧵 New Make 🧵. This is the @fridaypatterncompany #avenirjumpsuit. I have had this pattern for the longest time and have been meaning to make it for years! I’ve finally done it and I’ve made it using a viscose jersey fabric which I bought from my lovely friend @devon.threadtales . . I have made the size M but have made a couple of changes. I took about an inch off the bodice length as I didn’t want too much overhand over the waistband and I have taken some excess fabric from the rise as the crotch was really low. . . This jumpsuit can be made in both woven and jersey fabric and I think I’d still make the same adjustments if I make a woven version. For this one the crotch is still a little low, but I need to make the alteration to the pattern piece before sewing it up as I’ve done it after making this one. . . Overall I’m pleased with the result and I wore it out last night to our awards evening. It was obviously very comfortable, but perhaps a tad warm for dancing like crazy in 💃. . . I’d heard so many people talk about how the elastic twists around the neckline so I used a wider elastic and anchored it into place by sewing a few stitching lines over the elastic in numerous places. . . I’d like to make another one with short sleeves but use a woven fabric to compare fit. . . This is my #sewskinsummer25 entry @the_sewing_gardener- thanks for starting this challenge Lucy! We all need to take care of our skin in the sun- slap on that factor 50! I made the @fridaypatterncompany Avenir Jumpsuit in this viscose from @guthrieghani . I made the size XL, I measured as a XL on the bottom and a L on the top. For reference my measurements are usually 99cm bust, 84cm waist and 114cm hip. My waist in particular fluctuates with bloating. It’s very comfortable and I will definitely make this again! I started sewing this on the @virtualsewingroom and really enjoyed the session for the challenge. Finished it the day after but as ever put off photos! #avenirjumpsuit

I made a size XL in line with the size chart and I think the fit is great! I may reduce the elastic length on the neckline, but otherwise I'm really pleased with it. Me Made May - day 15 This memademay had gotten a bit sporadic. However day 15, Thursday, I wore this #avenirjumpsuit to dinner (pattern by @fridaypatterncompany ), a make I have only worn once since making around 2 years ago. This is one of those makes where the execution didn't meet expections. Despite toiling and adding length to the top, the top still doesn't fit well, even in this lovely tencel stretch twill. Can't tell in this photo but it's too tight under the arms. Is very strange type of top, its raglan sleeve and I don't know how to fix this issue. Drop the armscye? Good old Mr R drove the 2 hrs there and back as I was having a as good pain day and needed to get out (in fact I’ve been feeling brilliant since my surgery on Thursday - no idea what they gave me?). Anyway it was really great to meet up with those I’ve chatted with on here and know irl. I don’t often get to get out to these things so was so happy to have made one! Had a great haul - obviously spending double my budget 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve tagged the fabric companies in my photo - can’t wait to get these made up (plans for all of it). Lastly I wore a very recent make - a Friday Pattern Co Avenir jumpsuit in Atelier Brunette viscose twill.
