Well what a day!!! 💖💖💖 Helen (@xxstitchriprepeatxx ) and I had the absolute pleasure of being able to attend the @beyond.thepinkdoor new shop grand opening in Poundsbury today 💖 We’ve both had the most fantastic time, it was so fabulous to see Andrea again and have a brief chat (it was mega busy 😆) and what a joy that the wonderful Cara ( @sosewmad ) was there cutting fabric and chatting too. 💖 We both met so many fabulous people from the sewing community - this hobby really does have the most amazing, kind, inspirational people within it 🥰 thank you to anyone that came and said hello today - it really did make our day 🥰💖 💖 It was also a great opportunity for me to wear my new @sewoveritlondon #soileadress that I made and finished literally half an hour before we left today 😜🤣 in this beautiful #pimacottonlawn that I purchased recently from @stonefabrics 💖 The Lea pattern is a dress that I have wanted to make for so long, and when Sew Over It announced that they were re launching the pattern in an extended size range and added pockets, I thought what better excuse than to get on and make it 😊 💖 I’m so pleased with it, it has been a very comfortable dress to wear today and I felt really nice in it. 🧵 New Make 🧵. This is the @fridaypatterncompany #avenirjumpsuit. I have had this pattern for the longest time and have been meaning to make it for years! I’ve finally done it and I’ve made it using a viscose jersey fabric which I bought from my lovely friend @devon.threadtales . . I have made the size M but have made a couple of changes. I took about an inch off the bodice length as I didn’t want too much overhand over the waistband and I have taken some excess fabric from the rise as the crotch was really low. . . This jumpsuit can be made in both woven and jersey fabric and I think I’d still make the same adjustments if I make a woven version. For this one the crotch is still a little low, but I need to make the alteration to the pattern piece before sewing it up as I’ve done it after making this one. . . Overall I’m pleased with the result and I wore it out last night to our awards evening. It was obviously very comfortable, but perhaps a tad warm for dancing like crazy in 💃. . . I’d heard so many people talk about how the elastic twists around the neckline so I used a wider elastic and anchored it into place by sewing a few stitching lines over the elastic in numerous places. . . I’d like to make another one with short sleeves but use a woven fabric to compare fit. . . I’m up in the middle of the night! Again!! So here I am on insta 🤣 Today (later today) I am planning on sewing up my 4th avenir jumpsuit from @fridaypatterncompany in this beautiful orange viscose twill (swipe) from @jennystitchesfabrics I have had it cut out for ages (May) and it is time to sew it up. Earlier I was on the phone telling my uncle that I’m going to make something new to wear to my Aunt’s (his sister) funeral on Tuesday and as I said the words orange jumpsuit so the image of the orange prison outfits of those incarcerated in America popped into my head! 🤣 Now I can’t get that image out of my head, so I thought I would share it with you! My #ootd at the #chelseaflowershow2025 was an #avenirjumpsuit made by @threadbitchbrighton who donated it to @destash4palestine. The fabric is so pretty and the jumpsuit was so comfortable to wear. #memademay25day16 I’ve made it to halfway through #memademay and am definitely feeling the pressure now. I’m going to be pulling out Christmas jumpers to wear by the end of the month! I love a jumpsuit. The comfort even outweighs the feeling of exposure when going to the loo, and like a dress, you don’t have t to try and coordinate too and bottoms when getting dressed in the morning.
