The #pogonippullover by @fridaypatterncompany I LOVE this pattern!! I wanted to make a pogonip with some woven fabrics, ready for lots of summer adventures. After a lot of deliberation, and sending @sewingwithemmi way too many options, I finally decided on this cotton canvas mix. I used some vintage Laura Ashley fabric for the pack away bag! I followed the video sew along which was especially helpful when it came to the welt pockets. Chelsea makes hard things seem so easy with step by step instructions. I am so happy with this result. I made an XL as I wanted it to be slightly oversized to wear over jumpers etc. Oh and this pattern features a pack away bag so you can literally pack the pullover away into a handy bag that lives on the back. It’s SO clever and such a cool design feature! I just love this pattern so much and I’ll definitely be making another. After falling in love with this fabric a long time ago, I'm finally wearing my first handmade fleece - it's taken a while to make! I definitely should have made a toile as I had a few fit issues with this, and honestly I'm still not 100% happy with it, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it looks once I'm wearing it! The pattern is the Pogonip Pullover by @fridaypatterncompany - because the fabric is so thick I made a few tweaks including shortening the collar pieces and binding all the edges rather than hemming. Whipped up this colour block #pogonippullover from @fridaypatterncompany for my trip to Scotland. I made the xs, and left the pockets out to save some time. The 3/8" SA wasn't great for this fleece so I ended up switching to 5/8" but it came together quickly. It's been the perfect cozy layer for the Scottish summer weather 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Just finished the #pogonippullover from @fridaypatterncompany with Fourth of July bundle from @iseefabric fabric. So comfortable that I see more in my future with leftover fabrics. It’s a great pattern to mix and match fabrics. Since I had ribbing in the bundle, I used it instead of elastic at wrists and bottom. My final up-cycle for #MMM25 is the #PogonipPullover by @FridayPatternCompany . It was subtracted from the Esme Maxi Cardi by Named patterns.. another make that gave ‘bathrobe vibes ‘ in this substrate (a ‘cosy winter knit-heavy’ no longer available from Maiidesign). Deets if interested: Method: After deconstructing the Esme I realised I didn’t have big enough pieces to make the Pogonip so I decided to piece that fabric and quilt it to hide the join lines, resulting in no more waste than what fits in my hand☺️ It has 3 layers, the ‘cosy knit ‘ ,a fusible pelon fleece backing & some cotton lawn. I quilted everything in squares using a walking foot. When sewing it up it was pretty bulky in places so I used Bernina foot #8 , great for heavy fabrics. Fabric: called Cosy Winter Knit Heavy, it has wool & cotton and was sourced from Italy, this colour looks grey but it’s taupe. I’d love to find someone who still stocks it. Fit: size Large, no mods. Under the Pogonip I’m wearing the ‘Blaze’ by Fibremood. It’s a very cosy warm top & worth considering if you buy the Magazine. Corduroy pants are the #FibreMoodLux I wear them a lot. Today I let out the hem to give me another 2cm. They seem to be designed a 9/10’s length. #SewOver50May #sewover50 #fridaypatterncompany #memademay2025 #upcycledsewing

Milestone alert 🔔 My first time sewing welt pockets! Helped along so much by the ever-amazing @fridaypatterncompany videos. It's definitely one of those skills that looks trickier than it is once you break it down, and I love the finish. Snug as a bug in a rug… literally! I’m seven years into my #nonewclothes pledge and I’m still over here sew sew sewing. I’m just not getting them onto the grid anymore! (Wowsers that time has flown!) This is the @fridaypatterncompany #pogonippullover made using a thrifted quilt I scored for $4. I don’t have any blue snaps to finish it off but I’m quite fond of the open look of the collar so not sure if I will add them. There were so many steps to this pattern, and pattern pieces to match. Welt pockets, back pocket bag, collar and plackets. Putting it all together seemed never ending, but I’m so glad I stuck it out because I’m thrilled with the result! #makenine2025 update I’m not sure how we’re halfway through the year already, but here we are! Time for a little progress report on my #makenine: 1. My @sewhouse7 #toastersweater2 is done, but the neckline didn’t quite work for me - no fault of the pattern; I think I should have just sized up. I ended up modifying the neckline and am much happier now. 2. @fibremood #fibremoodbetty - I had a sturdy blue denim version planned, but the fabric I got was very lightweight. It’s still going to get lots of wear, but not too sure about the sturdiness.. 3. The plan was to make a #fibremoodtilly, but then @lotteundludwig released the #papillonebook which I fell in love with instantly, so I made that one (or three) instead. 4. I love a great basic wardrobe staple, and that’s exactly what this @tillybuttons #sewingbobbi skirt is. Simple and versatile and something I know I’ll reach for often. 5. @tillybuttons #sewingbillie was my first make this year I think, using this fab fabric from @rasmussons_shop. 6. The @fridaypatterncompany #heatherblazer is still on my list, I just have to work up the courage to tackle this one! 7. I batch cut two @rabaukowitsch #frolleinkluntje trousers last month. I shared one of them but still need to show you the brushed twill version! 8. @rabaukowitsch #ilsebill - I’m considering a co-ord set (top + skirt) instead of a dress after realizing during #MeMadeMay that I reach for separates more. Or maybe even some lightweight trousers? Still deciding… 9. #memademay Day 5 was a day of two halves! Started sunny but freezing cold with a light frost so needed my cosy #pogonippullover for the morning dog walk. Afternoon was a lot warmer so managed to wear my final toile of the Poppy (top version) by Cinnamon Daisy. Hot off the machine after a great day sewing multiple toiles to get the perfect fit! Paired with linen Mimosa culottes from Named Pattern Co, a make from last summer. I really like them but need more tops that I can wear with them so this one will be a good addition to the wardrobe.

#memademay2025 Day3 My absolute FAVOURITE make ever I think! It’s the @fridaypatterncompany #pogonippullover which I’d been eyeing up for the longest time. Then! I entered a competition to win ALL of their patterns. And won! 😭❤️Amazing. So I’m working my way through them. Slowly! I was actually really daunted by this but only because it has super special pockets (welt) which i had never done. There was a brilliant sew-a-long which takes away any stress and makes it all completely do-able. The fabric was from Lydias on Norwich Rd and is super thick, like a blanket and that made it quite hard to sew at times. But, worth the effort. First of many pics of me this month looking a bit daft in my makes. We camped in the van last night and it was so so warm and snug in my Pogonip Pullover. My seam ripper got a work out on this #pogonippullover @fridaypatterncompany! First I sewed the lower pocket panel on upside down. Discovered that mistake after serging side seams together. When sewing the cuff on with serger some got folded under so when I unpicked it there was a three inch rip in sleeve fabric. Hence the grosgrain ribbon to cover that error. I thought it was a brilliant solution and I like how it looks. I wanted to use these beautiful pottery forget-me-not buttons instead of snaps but had to rip out all three buttonholes. Finally got them to look good by putting tissue paper under fabric for a smoother ride. Whew! I persevered through my frustrations and am happy with the final result. THIS TOOK AGES 🤣🤣🤣🤣 And whilst it certainly has some sewing flaws, I’m pleased overall. I used a soft French Terry for a slouchy version of the #pogonippullover. This time, I added cotton ribbing to the cuffs and bottom, rather than the casing the pattern uses. I understitched some of the seams to make them lie neater on the outside (as the stretch material and overlocking added bulk) and I’m pretty happy with the welt pockets this time. The stitch-in-the-ditch was fairly neat too (partly why this took so long to sew!). I added a #littlerosycheeks label to the back - no hole to cover this time (phew!) but it’s there just for a bit of joy! I need at least six months to recover before I try another stretch version of this pattern 😂 #fridaypatterncompany #fridaypatterncompanypogonippullover #sewover40 #isew

Undecided about whether to match the cuffs to the collar. Am I the only one who’s started autumn sewing?! 🍁🍂 I picked up the Pogonip pattern in the FPC summer sale (along with Donny and Patina) and was itching to sew up a wearable toile before cutting into good fabric. I bought this quilted fabric for a toile for crazy cheap. It has a soft shell / active wear style sheen to it so perfect for walks / travel to and from the gym. The pattern is straightforward, except for the welt pockets. The sew along videos are really good and worth watching. I like how different fabrics will give this pullover different looks - I’ve so many ideas! I’m thinking a Borg/sherpa/fleecy option, a quilted puffer or lighter weight French terry - clearly I’ll be making a few of these! Next time I’ll need to add 1-2inches to the sleeve length and to the bodice. I’ll also increase the length of the elastic or replace with a drawstring. The welt pockets feel a little ‘flappy’ so I’ll consider adding a popper or magnetic snap to hold them down. Over all this is a great pattern; an autumn wardrobe staple! 🌟 🌟 Pogonip Pullover 🌟 🌟 First make of 2025 was the @fridaypatterncompany #pogonippullover This was a #sewingsociety kit by @guthrieghani So pleased I snapped it up when it came back in stock very briefly. This quilted Cotten double gauze is so lovely, warm and soft. I followed all of Lauren’s helpful tips, all the inside seams are bias bound. My finished make from the @izzosewstudio retreat this weekend. After binding seams for what felt like days, I have a finished Friday Pattern Company Pogonip Pullover using the @guthrieghani sewing society kit from last year. I hadn’t lengthened the bodice pieces and was worried it would be too short, so I omitted the elastic from the bottom of the pullover and used the casing piece to add a bit of extra length instead. I bound the sleeve ends and the hem to match the inner binding and pocket linings too. Back from a lovely half term away with all the family. A few new sews to share although I was pretty rubbish at getting photos. A double entry, the is my new pogonip and the bottoms are thea trousers. A perfect outfit for a walk along West Wittering beach. A lovely place, dog friendly and extra bonus it has a lovely cafe for coffee and lunch. I saw this liberty fabric for the pogonip at the last stitching show and fell for it immediately. It's the perfect weight and super snuggly and warm. I wish I had lengthened the bodice by an inch, which is surprising as I'm only 5ft 1 and didn't remove any length from the bodice, only the sleeves. I messed up the welt pockets and sewed them upside down, luckily I have just enough left to recut and remake the front panel. The Thea trousers took quite a lot of tweaks and toils to get them right, still not perfect but I'm happy with the fit. They are made from a nacy cotton twill from my stash, i sadly can't remember where I got it from #sewingthea #pogonippullover #fridaypatterncompanypogonippullover #fpcpogonip #autumnsewing @tillyandthebuttons @fridaypatterncompany

Whoop whoop it’s finally here - Pogonip party day!!! I made this at the beginning of February and have worn it many times this month. The fabric is a beige stretch jersey cord - definitely not the stable knit the pattern recommends and the welt pockets were a little challenging! My lining is a gorgeous beige gingham linen mix I picked up at a @bathsews fabric swap. I made the XL (my measurements came at the bottom of the range) I think I’d size down to a L next time unless I use very chunky fabric.
