ℍ𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕠 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕪-𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣⁣ We vieren mijn verjaardag met een nieuwe outfit! 🥳 De Jade pants zat al heel lang op mijn verlanglijstje. Ik was van plan eerst een niet zo mooi stofje te gebruiken om een proefmodel te maken. En wat denk je? Het o zo lelijke stofje is toch heel leuk! 🤩 Het zit ook zooo lekker knus! ⁣ Daarna vond ik het een idee om een passend T-shirt erbij te maken. Basic shirts heb ik wel in de kast liggen, maar de meesten zijn mij toch wat te klein geworden 🫣 Eentje maken dus! Het is de Erica shirt geworden in een dun zwart stofje. De halsboord was mij toch wat te lubberig uitgekomen en om het nou helemaal opnieuw te doen was mij te veel werk. Ik heb het uiteindelijk naar binnen gevouwen en is het halsboordje nu wat dunner geworden. ⁣ Helaas kwam ik er op het laatste moment achter dat er een gaatje aan de voorzijde van het shirt zit, iets rechts van mijn navel. Misschien dat het toch een crop top wordt? 🤣⁣ ⁣ -----⁣ ⁣ ℍ𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕠 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕪-𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣⁣ We celebrate my birthday with a new outfit! 🥳 The Jade Pants has been on my wishlist for quite a while. I was planning on sewing a testmodel first with a fabric I wasn't too keen about. And what do you know? The oh so ugly fabric is actually really fun! Its sooo comfy as well! ⁣ Afterwards I needed a matching T-shirt to wear it with. I have a few basic shirts, but most of them are a bit small 🫣 Time to make one! It became the Erica shirt with a thin black fabric. The neckband was a bit too sluggish and having to redo it was too much work. Eventually I folded it to the inside and the neckband became smaller.⁣ Unfortunately I found out at the last moment that there was a small hole in the shirt on the front, near my belly button. These are my #jadepants using the pattern by @dressmakingamore! This project allowed me to share my love of sewing! In the summer of 2022, one of the interns for the company I worked for had the idea to do a sewing day. She found a wide leg pant pattern she wanted to make, and she invited two of the other interns to join us. One day after work, we went to @gstreetfabrics, which was only a few minutes’ drive from the office, to pick out fabric and get other supplies. I made this pair in gorgeous dark blue scuba fabric to test out the pattern and make sure I could answer any questions they might have. The pants pair beautifully with a maize top 😉 The next weekend, I met the interns at one of their apartments and brought my #JanomeSkylineS9 and my #VikingEmerald116, and we had a fun sewing day! Some of the fabrics we chose were a little tricky to work with, but we persevered. These blue pants were sewn entirely on my Skyline, and my Viking stepped in to help the Skyline for the interns’ pants. Top - @stylearc Esme pattern - based on reviews I decided to cut 1 size down - 6. It’s a relaxed fit with plenty of room for my growing belly. The collar directions seemed tricky but it made sense once I had the cut piece. Bottom - @dressmakingamore Jade pants - cut a size M to accommodate the growing bump. Will def be making a lot more of these pants in the future! ℍ𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕠 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕪-𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣⁣ We vieren mijn verjaardag met een nieuwe outfit! 🥳 De Jade pants zat al heel lang op mijn verlanglijstje. Ik was van plan eerst een niet zo mooi stofje te gebruiken om een proefmodel te maken. En wat denk je? Het o zo lelijke stofje is toch heel leuk! 🤩 Het zit ook zooo lekker knus! ⁣ Daarna vond ik het een idee om een passend T-shirt erbij te maken. Basic shirts heb ik wel in de kast liggen, maar de meesten zijn mij toch wat te klein geworden 🫣 Eentje maken dus! Het is de Erica shirt geworden in een dun zwart stofje. De halsboord was mij toch wat te lubberig uitgekomen en om het nou helemaal opnieuw te doen was mij te veel werk. Ik heb het uiteindelijk naar binnen gevouwen en is het halsboordje nu wat dunner geworden. ⁣ Helaas kwam ik er op het laatste moment achter dat er een gaatje aan de voorzijde van het shirt zit, iets rechts van mijn navel. Misschien dat het toch een crop top wordt? 🤣⁣ ⁣ -----⁣ ⁣ ℍ𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕠 𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕪-𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕣⁣ We celebrate my birthday with a new outfit! 🥳 The Jade Pants has been on my wishlist for quite a while. I was planning on sewing a testmodel first with a fabric I wasn't too keen about. And what do you know? The oh so ugly fabric is actually really fun! Its sooo comfy as well! ⁣ Afterwards I needed a matching T-shirt to wear it with. I have a few basic shirts, but most of them are a bit small 🫣 Time to make one! It became the Erica shirt with a thin black fabric. The neckband was a bit too sluggish and having to redo it was too much work. Eventually I folded it to the inside and the neckband became smaller.⁣ Unfortunately I found out at the last moment that there was a small hole in the shirt on the front, near my belly button. One of my goals for 2023 was to document my projects and share them more consistently - here we are in July and I’m just now starting to 😅 Back in January I finally got my own serger (after many attempts to revive my grandmother’s machine, which just didn’t work) and I started working with knits for the first time. I wanted to make something cozy that would be easy to put on after changing out of my scrubs at the end of the day - these have definitely fit the bill! You can probably already see the pilling and stains accumulating, especially on the pink pair. This modal blend from Joann’s is so buttery soft, but not as resilient to daily life as I initially hoped. Insta, not even your glitches deleting my post can take away from the amazing beach vibes this outfit has! Super happy how it turned out, so comfortable to wear and it was so easy to make. The whole outfit didn't get worn on vacation, but pieces of it did, and I'll definitely get some wear out of it over the summer! The kimono is basic and self drafted. The Lola twist top and Jade knit pants are from @dressmakingamore . Super easy and quick to make, highly recommend! Pants made a little large because I didn't have time to fit them, and the shirt was lengthened a small amount. I'll make tons of these shirts, it was such a quick sew! I bought heaps of this fabric when I saw it, all the colours of the bathing suits I wanted for the trip and in a perfect summer knit weight! I bought an insane amount of this fabric because it was both on sale and in the colour scheme I was planning on. {English 👇🏻} Vor einigen Wochen ist mir hier auf Instagram das Schnittmuster „Jade Pants“ von @dressmakingamore aufgefallen. Der Schnitt ist für Stretchstoffe sieht aber auf den ersten Blick nicht danach aus. Somit eine ideale Hose fürs Homeoffice. Der Schnitt hat Nahttaschen, welche allerdings nicht im Bund mitgefasst sind. Somit haben die Taschen keinen Halt und ich würde nicht den Schlüsselbund + Smartphone zusammen auf einer Seite tragen. Bei einem dünneren Stoff, denke ich, könnte man einen Taschenbeutelschnitt verwenden, welcher im Bund befestigt wird. Bei meinem dicken Polyesterstoff wäre das jedoch zu dick geworden. Die Beine habe ich gleich am Schnitt um 15cm gekürzt. Das ist selbst für meine Verhältnisse viel :-). Die Hose trägt sich super und im Gegensatz zu meinen anderen Daheim-Hosen, traue ich mich damit auch raus und fühle mich angezogen. This pattern is for stretch fabrics but doesn´t look like it. Therefore an ideal trousers for working from home. The pattern has inseam pockets, which, however, are not captured in the waistband. Thus, the pockets have no hold but as the pattern suggests also thicker stretch fabric it makes sense to do it that way in order to avoid too much bulk in the waistband. I shortened the legs by 15cm. Obviously the pattern is not drafted for people with my height 😊 . The pants are very comfortable to wear and unlike my other pants at home, I dare to go out and feel dressed.
