I made this little dress on Sunday, it was cut out and sewn all on one day. Such an easy, quick and satisfying sew. The pattern was gifted to me from @minervadotcom it is one of their Exclusive patterns called the Jane Dress. I made mine in a John Louden French Terry that has been in my stash for quite a few years because I wasn't convinced the Coral colour was for me, scroll to the end to see a close up, it has a lovely gold sparkle thread running along the stripes. Don't know what I was thinking as now I have used it, I love it. I can't remember where I bought it from but Minerva has it in stock with some other colour choices too, if interested follow the link in my bio to see it and to read my posts on this make, I altered the pattern a bit to take out some of the ease as there is alot and I thought I wanted it less loosey Goosey, also shortened it. Not quite got the fit 💯 but I still like it, clearly I do as I have worn it every day since and made another one. My second one, which I will show soon, I have kept more of the ease and length, so it looks more like the designer intended for this loose cocoon style jersey dress. French Terry is surprisingly comfy and cool to wear in warm weather I have found out. My second Jane dress this time in one of @minervadotcom Exclusive Matt Activewear Lycra fabrics called Dynamic Doodles - kindly gifted to me 🤗 #MinervaBrandAmbassador I didn't take out as much of the ease or length as I did in my striped French Terry one, it shows of the cocoon style of this dress more. The drape of this fabric suits the extra fabric I think as it falls softly. You can't see the design lines so easily but I did a double row of top stitching on the pocket top and also top stitched down the front and back seams of the side panels to help highlight them. I wouldn't have thought of using an activewear until I watched one of Minerva's videos on fabric choices for this pattern, this was a wildcard thrown in that caught my attention and thought it could look a bit sporty. It has lots of stretch and lycra which I normally think of tight leggings, tees and bodycon dresses, also with this particular one you can use it for swimsuits as it is opague and chlorine resistant.
