This dress has become one of my favourites 💙it’s the #chantelledress from @dressmakingamore in a deadstock Chanel boucle. Just gorgeous 🩵 I made a size xs with no alterations and the fit is to die for 😍 #dapatterns I did make the mistake of choosing a white lining that’s sometimes visible, but I can live with that 😉

Making the most of our bougie hotel backdrop before we head of into the wilderness for 3 days! I really love this dress so much more than I expected to, I think it’s one of my favourite ever makes. The reason for this is probably because it’s the first ever time I’ve bothered to properly fit the pattern to my measurements and do a full bust adjustment. I should do this for almost all tops, but I can never be bothered and just add extra to the sides and hope for the best. It usually works out fine but is often a little big in the back. Having done my first ever FBA, this dress fits me so well!! Yes shocker I know, as a friend pointed out, can you believe that a tried and tested dressmaking technique actually works!? The fabric I used for this feels such high quality. It’s a Borgo de Nor Deadstock cotton sateen from @rainbowfabrickilburn. Initially I wasn’t too sure on the colour when it arrived, but now I’m fully sold, it’s the perfect fabric for this pattern, and hides my sunburnt face a little 😅 The pattern is the Chantelle dress from @seamwork . I really like a fitted garment and love a princes seam, so I knew I wanted to make this dress as soon as I saw the pattern. I used the pattern size that matched my high bust and waist measurement, and then did a 1.5 inch FBA each side to give an extra 3 inches. Will I be doing a FBA again?
