I am loving the fabric this client brought to make custom pants out of! We also decided to add some faux welt pockets as a subtle detail to break up the pattern a bit at the back, and we also lined it with some super soft tencel for that lovely feel against the skin. Went out for a walk today and finally got some photos of my favourite pair of dress pants I've made in my "office wear" sewing phase. These pants are super comfy and I love how professional they look! I never saw myself wearing wider leg trousers but I have been converted! Since I arrived in much hotter latitudes, i did get a couple of sunburns. So for a couple of days, I switched my tank top and shorts for my #darcypants from @dressmakingamore and #taloversizedshirt from @theassemblylineshop. I love the combo. believe it or not.... I sewed another pair of black trousers! these are the #darcypants by @dressmakingamore in a size 8. For the mods, I added 5cm in length and I took in the waist a bit by widening each front pleat by 7mm and each back dart by 4mm and it fits great! 🪡 64 | Chemisier Janie & Pantalon Darcy Il y a quelques semaines j'ai trouvé un coupon de 1m60 de crêpe 100% soie dans le bac des tissus de moins de 3m aux coupons de saint pierre. Je n'ai pas hésité une seule seconde, imaginant un joli chemisier pour le printemps. Non sans appréhension je me suis lancée dans la confection d'un chemisier Janie dans cette soie, qui au final ne m'a pas tant fait galérer que ça car le tissu étant un peu texturé, il ne glissait pas autant que le satin de soie par exemple. J'ai quand même pris mon temps pour le coudre et avoir de belles finitions. Résultat j'ai un chemisier en soie corail que j'ai trop hâte de porter 🧡 Niveau patron, j'ai cousu le chemisier en T36 et les manches en T40 pour être à l'aise. Je rencontre toujours une difficulté au niveau de l'assemblage du pied de col à l'encolure : le pied de col est trop court et j'ai systématiquement des plis a l'assemblage (cachés au porté par le col, mais bon...), malgré le fait que le sachant j'avais rallonge le pied de col et le col mais ça n'a pas suffi...est ce que vous avez ce problème si vous avez cousu Janie ? 🇫🇷J'avais un tas de pantalons en lin blanc/crème dans mes inspirations pour cet été. J'ai choisi de coudre le #pantalondarcy de @dressmakingamore. J'adorais la coupe et je n'ai pas été déçue. Le lin blanc était transparent par contre. J'ai essayé de doubler la partie supérieure du pantalon, mais c'était hyper inconfortable tout ce tissu. Je suis passée à l'option n°2 : j'ai retiré la doublure et j'ai teint le pantalon dans cette couleur chocolat. J'envisage déjà une deuxième paire pour cet automne dans une laine marine. Comme je mesure 1,73m, les patrons de pantalon peuvent souvent être un peu serrés près de l'entrejambe. Rien de tout ça ici. White linen was too transparent though. I tried to line the upper part of the pants, for decency. Bulky, uncomfortable. Switch for option n°2 : i removed the lining and dyed it this muted chocolate colour. I'm already planning a second pair for this autumn in a navy wool. Very proud day watching my daughter graduate in a suit I made. I'll write it all up at some point as I think I need to write out all the stress of making for a special event. My daughter wanted a yellow suit and had bought a rtw version and asked if I could alter it (you can see a pic of the rtw version in the last pic). I foolishly said it would be easier to make one! #memademay2025 recap and my favorite outfits✨ Since I usually already wear something I've made myself, the real challenge this year was capturing the outfits and trying new combinations. I realised that, especially for work, I tend to wear quite basic outfits and rotate my favourite homemade clothing items. I would have liked to wear some of my more summery pieces, but I really struggled to find outfits suitable for the rather cool spring days 🙆🏼‍♀️ Ultimately, I mostly wore homemade trousers (rotating between my three pairs of #msworkertrousers by @modern_sewing_co and my #dadarcypants by @dressmakingamore ), and I realised that I could add some more shirts (ones that aren't basic tops or long-sleeved) 🌞 While I haven't shown much of it here (yet), I also managed to do a bit more sewing this month and finished four projects for myself and friends 🧵

🪡 64 | Chemisier Janie & Pantalon Darcy Il y a quelques semaines j'ai trouvé un coupon de 1m60 de crêpe 100% soie dans le bac des tissus de moins de 3m aux coupons de saint pierre. Je n'ai pas hésité une seule seconde, imaginant un joli chemisier pour le printemps. Non sans appréhension je me suis lancée dans la confection d'un chemisier Janie dans cette soie, qui au final ne m'a pas tant fait galérer que ça car le tissu étant un peu texturé, il ne glissait pas autant que le satin de soie par exemple. J'ai quand même pris mon temps pour le coudre et avoir de belles finitions. Résultat j'ai un chemisier en soie corail que j'ai trop hâte de porter 🧡 Niveau patron, j'ai cousu le chemisier en T36 et les manches en T40 pour être à l'aise. Je rencontre toujours une difficulté au niveau de l'assemblage du pied de col à l'encolure : le pied de col est trop court et j'ai systématiquement des plis a l'assemblage (cachés au porté par le col, mais bon...), malgré le fait que le sachant j'avais rallonge le pied de col et le col mais ça n'a pas suffi...est ce que vous avez ce problème si vous avez cousu Janie ?
