I’m always drawn to vintage patterns, I have collected so many special ones over the last few years and often jump to the re-released versions too. But, I tend to sew indie patterns and have never made any of them. Until now!
This is a wearable toile. I knew I would likely have some fit issues with it being a big 4 and G cup bust! This one is far from perfect (but I made another fully fit adjusted one already 😉) but it just makes me smile. The flared a line shape, the bright print of my fabric, and the pin stripe details on the sleeves are all good for a hit of dopamine, even when the fit isn’t perfect!

Pattern : #m8570 by @simplicitymccallsuk
Fabric: Helios cotton poplin from @fabricsgalorelondon
Adjustments: I cut a 16 and added 2” to the bust depth (not enough as you can see!). In the second version I made (coming to the grid soon) I added 2 more inches to the bodice depth and graded down to a 14 at the empire line seam to take just a bit out of the skirt.
